北京中文学校增设中英双语基础班(CSL- Chinese as a Second Language)。本班主要以没有中文语言环境的学生为教学对象并根据学生的口语及听力能力分为初级，中级，高级班。高级班毕业的学生原则上可编入中文母语班随堂听课。

The Beijing Chinese

This program is designed for students who come from
non-Chinese language backgrounds. Students will be placed in
elementary, intermediate, or advanced classes based on their
Chinese speaking and listening skills. After completing the
advanced class, students will progress to level- appropriate
non-bilingual Chinese language courses.

周末中文班
周末中文班始终是纽约北京中文学校办学的主体。本校周末中文班选用实用性、系统性、科学性很强的《中文》教材，采取一年三学期制的相对密集的教学内容安排，以提高教学进度和效率。目前本校设有各册《中文》教学班，并根据海外中文教学的需要，增设四岁以上学前班、周日班，一至十二册班，中学部及『一对一』特别中文教学，可以对不同程度的学生因材施教。各中文班均聘请有经验、有爱心、负责任的老师任课。
本校中文教学有四个显著特点：
其一：选用实用性、系统性较强的成套教材，并配有灵活多样的学生家庭作业练习册，增强学生学习中文的趣味性和信心，使学生能在短时间内获得基本的中文表达能力。
其二：针对语言学习的连续性特点，本校采取一年三学期制（秋季、春季、暑期）的教学安排。这种密集式的教学内容安排，可防止学生因放长假造成的中文知识的遗忘，大大提高学生的学习效率和效果。
其三，在教学中，注重听说读写能力的全面提高，并着力培养学生的自学能力，为学生今后的长期中文学习奠定坚实的基础。
其四，师资力量雄厚，教学管理严格。选择都是坚持德才兼备的标准。对教师有明确的教学要求和定期的教学检查制度。
本校每年三月及十一月均组织学生参加一年一度的SAT Ⅱ全美中文模拟考试及中华人民共和国教育部对外国留学生汉语水准考试（HSK---俗称中国TOEFL），这是对学生学习中文的客观评价标准。在上述考试中成绩优秀的学生均可获取政府提供的全额奖学金，暑期期间留学中国。
在中文教学中，北京中学学校十分注重听说读写能力的全面训练，以确保教学质量。我校中年级学生即可阅读浅显的中文读物，高年级即可在中文报纸上发表习作。我校学生参加历次SAT Ⅱ全美中文模拟考试、HSK考试等均取得优良成绩。许多学生在各类中文写作、朗诵比赛中获奖。经过六年的辛勤耕耘，学生可完成学业。
北京中文学校对毕业生的资格考核坚持四项标准同时具备：
1. 完成本校所选用的中文教材十二册的学习并考试合格。
2. SAT Ⅱ全美中文模拟考试700分以上（满分800分）。
3. 中国教育部对外国留学生汉语水平考试（简称HSK）中级以上。
4. 在中文报刊杂志发表文章五篇以上。
只有具备以上四项标准者方可为本校小学部毕业生，有资格获取本校授予的毕业证书；符合两项以上但不满四项标准者为本校小学部准毕业生，待经过补习，四项标准全部达到后，获准补发毕业证书。
Weekend Chinese Class
The weekend Chinese class has
been the main program of New York Beijing Chinese School.
Our weekend Chinese class selectively use very practical,
systematic, and highly scientific “Chinese” teaching material,
and uses relatively highly concentrated teaching materials
that are arranged for 1 year and three semesters in order
to improve the speed and efficiency of the teaching. Currently,
our school has various programs of the “Chinese” teaching
class, and according to the demand of the oversea Chinese
teaching, we have established the pre-school class for kids
that are over four years old, weekday classes, 1st to 12th
grade classes, High School Division, and “One on One” special
English classes, maybe provide customized teaching according
to the various levels of students. We have hired experienced,
loving, and responsible teachers to teach each Chinese classes.
There are four obvious characteristics
for the Chinese teaching of our school:
1. Select highly practical, systematic
sets of teaching materials, accommodate with flexible student
homework and practicing material booklets, improve the interests
and confidence that students have for learning Chinese,
and enable students to obtain the basic Chinese expressing
ability within a very short amount of time.
2. Targeting the continuous connecting characteristics
of the study of language, our school has designed a teaching
arrangement of 1 year three semesters (fall, spring, and
summer). Such highly intensive arrangement of teaching contents
could prevent students from forgetting the Chinese knowledge
due to the long vacations, and significantly improve the
study efficiency and quality of the students.
3. During our teaching, we focus on the overall improvement
of listening, speech, reading, and writing, and we train
students for their self studying ability, thus establish
a very solid foundation for the long term of Chinese studies
of the students in the future.
4. Solid strength of faculty and capital, strict teaching
management system. We set very high standards of selecting
teachers with both good morals and high talents, and we
have very clear teaching requirements and periodical teaching
examination systems.
Every March and November, we organize our students to
participate in the annual simulation SATII exam in the Chinese
language and a simulation Han Language Level Test (HSK)
– a test designed by the Ministry of Education of the People’s
Republic of China to evaluate the level of Chinese attained
by foreign students learning Chinese (popularly dubbed the
“Chinese TOEFL”), which is an objective evaluation standard
for students learning Chinese. During the above examinations,
students with excellent grades could obtain full scholarship
provided by the government, and travel to China for study
tour during the summer vacation.
In Chinese teaching, Beijing Chinese School highly focuses
on the overall training of listening, speech, reading, and
writing, to ensure our teaching quality. The mid level students
of our school could read very easy Chinese readings. The
senior students could publish their writings in the Chinese
newspapers. Our students have numerously participated in
the All American simulation SAT II exam in Chinese language,
HSK examinations and obtained very good grades. Many students
have won awards during various Chinese writing and reading
competitions. After six years of diligent studies, students
could complete their study.
Beijing Chinese School demands its graduates
to qualify in all of the following four areas:
1. Completion of the 12 “Chinese” textbooks and passing
corresponding tests satisfactorily.
2. Receive a score of 700 or more (out of 800) in the
SAT II Chinese simulation test.
3. Receive a medium or higher score in the HSK exam, which
is the Chinese Ministry of Education’s evaluation test of
foreign students in their knowledge of Chinese.
4. Publish at least five writings in Chinese-language
newspapers or magazines.
Students complying with the four conditions
above are approved for graduation from the Beijing Chinese
School’s elementary school and are granted with diplomas.
Those who fulfill at least two or more of the four conditions
are approved as associate graduates of the elementary school,
and will be issued a diploma upon satisfying all four criteria.
周末英文、数学辅导班
周末英文、数学辅导班是对公立学校教学的辅助与补充，主要用以解决新移民学生由于语言障碍而产生的学习困难。辅导班全部聘用公立学校优秀的美国执照教师任教。并在课后班安排中英双语辅导员进行一对一辅导。
对于没有语言困难、在公立学校学习顺利的学生我们的辅导班则可以使其在公立学校具有更强的竞争能力。

Weekend English and Math Tutoring
Class is a supplement and assistance for the teaching of
public schools. It mainly helps new immigrant students to
overcome their difficulties due to language barriers during
their studies. The Tutoring Class hires only excellent teachers
who are licensed and teach in the public schools. There’s
also Chinese English bilingual one-on-one tutoring after
the class.
For those who doesn’t have any language difficulties,
and able to study smoothly in public schools, our tutoring
class will enable them to become more competitive in the
public schools.
课后英文、数学辅导班
北京中文学校开设的星期一至星期五的课后辅导班，是对美国公立学校的辅助。课后辅导班旨在帮助孩子们完成作业，培养孩子良好的学习习惯，丰富孩子们的课后活动，为家长解决后顾之忧，因此深得广大深长的欢迎。
目前本校在26学区PS173小学设置课后辅导班。服务时间为公立学校正常上课日下午2：30PM-6：00PM。教师全部了PS173小学美国执照教师，每班不超过15个学生并配备中英双语辅导员及若干TUTOR进行一对一教学辅导。学生在教师的辅导下完成作业后，继续做本校根据教育局教学大纲选编的课外补充题目。学校对所有学生提供免费点心，对PS26、PS31、PS46、PS162及PS173小学的学生提供校车接送服务，对5：00PM不能离校的学生学校安排一小时的免费体育课或才艺课。
After School English & Math Tutoring
Class
The Monday to Friday after school
tutoring class hosted by Beijing Chinese School is a supplement
to the U.S. public school. The purpose of the after school
tutoring class is to help students to finish them homework,
and establish a good study habit, enrich the after school
activities of the kids, and help the parents to resolve their
worries, thus is welcomed by many parents.
Currently our school has opened after school tutoring
class in PS173 of School District 26, our service time is
the normal class days of public schools from 2:30pm ~ 6:00pm.
All of the teachers are licensed American teachers of PS173,
each class does not exceed 15 students, and provide Chinese
English bilingual counselor as well as a number of tutors
to provide one-on-one training. After completing homework
under the guidance of the teachers, students will continue
to work on the extra-curriculum exercise materials that our
school selected according to the teaching reference provided
by the Board of Education. School will provide free desert
to all students, and school bus for students of PS26, PS31,
PS46, PS162, and PS173. For those students who couldn’t leave
school at 5pm, school will arrange one hour of free gym class
or talent class.
才艺班
为配合中文教学，提高学生的中文听说能力，北京中文学校在暑期及周末设有音乐、绘画、舞蹈等才艺班。才艺班不仅为开发孩子们的多方面才能提供了广阔的空间，而且由于采用中文进行才艺教学，因此，能使孩子们的中文能力得以延伸。本校聘请的教师均具有较高的专业水准。通过中国民间舞蹈及中国画的教学，教师们能够潜移默化润物无声地帮助孩子们了解中国文化。
才艺班可以带给孩子们无穷的乐趣，是孩子们的最爱。
Talent Class
In order to accommodate Chinese of
Chinese, improve the Chinese listening skills of the students,
Beijing Chinese School has created music, art, and dancing
talent classes during summer vacation and weekends. The
Talent Classes do not only provide a wide space to develop
the multiple talents of kids, but also they use Chinese
to provide these talent teachings, therefore, the Chinese
ability of the kids could be explored. Our school hires
only teachers with very high professional qualifications.
Through the teaching of Chinese folklore dance and Chinese
art, teachers could help kids through an unconscious state
of process.
Talent Class can bring endless fun to kids, which is the
most favorite class for kids.
暑期中英双语才艺学校
努力营造中、英双语教育环境，培养中、英双语人才，是北京中文学校的主要特色。北京中文学校每年暑期的教学安排为：周一至周五每天上午聘请有丰富经验的美国公立学校教师教授英文、数学课，是完全的英文环境；下午由本校中文教师教授中文课程，是纯粹的中文环境。在密集的双语强化训练中，学生的双语水平迅速提高。由于英文、数学的教学内容紧密结合公立学校课程，所以通过暑期学校的复习和预习，学生在九月份开学后学习能力和学习成绩都有长足的进步。为活跃学生的暑期生活，开拓学生的视野，促进学生多方面才能的发展，学校另设才艺选修课程。北京中文学校的暑期双语才艺学校受到广大家长的欢迎。

Summer Chinese English Bilingual Talent
School
Building a Chinese and English educational
environment and train Chinese and English bilingual talents
is the main characteristics of Beijing Chinese School. The
teaching arrangement of Beijing Chinese School of every
summer is that: During the mornings of Monday to Friday,
hire experienced American licensed public school teacher
to teach English, math, which is a complete English environment;
the afternoon classes will be taught by the Chinese teachers
of our school and it’s a complete Chinese environment. The
intensive bilingual strength training enable the bilingual
strength of students to rapidly improve. Since the teaching
content of English and math are closely connected with the
classes of public school, thus through the study and preparation
of summer school, students will have enough improvement
in their learning abilities and grades when school opens
in September. In order to activate the summer activities
of students, and open up the vision of students, promote
the development of multiple talents of students, the school
has opened additional selective talent classes. The summer
bilingual talent schools of Beijing Chinese School are welcomed
by most parents.
The service time of summer school is from Monday to Friday
8:00am ~ 6:00pm.

暑期中国留学旅行团
“读万卷书，行万里路”，是一个人开阔眼界、增长知识不可或缺的两个方面。本校自2000年起，每年利用8月中旬至9月初这段时间组织对中国文化有兴趣的学生和家长去中国作短期留学旅游，以使生长在海外的华裔子弟对祖国河山以及中国的灿烂文明有更为直视、具体的体认。路线选择以名山大川、历史文化名城为主，内容安排以全面了解中国文化为重。雄奇的自然风光，灿烂的古代文明，美不胜收的建筑文化，目不暇接的城乡新貌，以及百吃不厌的中国餐饮，让孩子们真正体会了中国历史文化的十大精深、源远流长，作为龙的传人的自豪感油然而生。更可喜的是，孩子每到一个城市，都同那里的优秀学生联欢，结为笔友。经过短期的留学，孩子们已经与故国神州建立了真切、绵长的感情联系。
学校每年确定不同的留学专题，选择不同的旅行路线。学生及其家长均可报名参加，有家长培事的学生年龄不限(家长可按学生标准付费)，没有家长陪同的学生限10岁以上。暑期中国留学旅行活动，每年3月起接受报名，5月31日报名截止。
Summer China Travel Study Tour
The Chinese tradition
of “study ten thousand volumes of books and travel ten thousand
miles of journeys” are two indispensable pathways to knowledge
and broaden our visions. Since 2000, our school has hosted
and organized those students and parents who are interested
in Chinese culture for a short term travel study tour, so
that those oversea Chinese children will have a more direct
and more detailed understanding and recognition for the
landscape of China and its spectacular culture. The travel
path will be mainly the famous mountains and historical
cities. The content will be focusing on the understanding
of Chinese culture. The extraordinary natural scene, the
spectacular ancient cultures, the beautiful construction
cultures, the busy eye catching city views, and the never
tiring Chinese food service, make our children truly experience
the extraordinary and in depth essence of the Chinese historical
culture which flaws far along the river of the history.
As a descendant of the dragon, we naturally feel proud of
ourselves. What’s more pleasing was that wherever our kids
went, they’d make friends with the excellent students over
there and become pen-pals with each other. After a short
term of travel study tour, our children have establish sincere
and long lasting friendship and connections with our home
country the great China.
Each year, the school has different themes for the travel
study tours, and select different travel paths. Students
and their parents all could participate and register. Those
who are accompanied by the parents are not limited to their
ages (parents could pay according to the student fees),
those who are not accompanied by the parents must be over
10 years old. The summer China travel study tour accepts
registration starting from March of every year, and it ends
on May 31st.
美国赴华人员短中文口语培训班
北京中文学校开设成人中文口语培训班，为赴华人事英文教学工作的人员进行短期中文基本日常口语的教训，使其在华工作、生活更为顺利。对于赴中国进行英语教学有兴趣的人士，我校可以代为介绍工作。

the basic daily Chinese speech for those Americans who travel
to China and teach English there, thus provide convenience
for those who will work and live in China. For those who

in mainland China who have special artistic talents to travel
to the United States for tour performance, visits, and travel.
